DIYA MAKING ACTIVITY (17-Oct-2019)

Diwali the, festival of luminosity, is celebrated with utmost fervor in our country as it is not only the time for celebration but has also got divine values associated with it. The aura of this festival is such that preparation for its celebration begins days ahead.
There are certain essential elements which add meaning to this festival, the most important being small oil lamps made from clay and popularly known as DIYA or DEEPAK.
To mark the beginning of festivities, the students of class 1 to class 5 indulged in the activity of DIYA MAKING under the supervision of their respective art teachers wherein they were shown the process of making diyas .These diyas were further decorated by the students themselves using various articles viz.colours, glitters, confetti etc. The activity finished with extreme enthusiasm as the students were distinctly joyous to carry their handmade diyas which they would light on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
